Orange County Jail Fees
Having a loved one incarcerated can be difficult, and we understand that there may be times you will need certain documents notarized.
Some common types of notarizations that incarcerated individuals may be requesting are:
-
Inability to Appear Affidavit
-
Vehicle or Property Release
-
Power of Attorney
-
Consent for Minor Child to Travel
-
Consent for Release of Information
-
Consent to Apply for US passport for a minor under age 16
It is important to understand that jail signings usually take a little longer. This can be due to a variety of factors including extended wait times, denial of visitation, and failure to having proper identification.
Some examples of extended wait time are:
-
If the guards are not available to immediately escort the incarcerated individual to the signing
-
If the incarcerated individual is currently preoccupied
-
If there are not any professional visiting rooms available (as there can be lawyers, or other notaries occupying the rooms)
However, with careful planning and consideration, we can help you with these transactions.
By verifying the following prior to scheduling your jail notarization, we can avoid many issues that can cause an unsuccessful transaction.
The incarcerated individual must have a jail wristband, or state identification that matches the name on the document. (For example: if they have two middle names listed on the document, both of those middle names must be listed on the wristband or the identification card.
It is not uncommon for the jail to not have the full legal name of the incarcerated individual on their wristband. When this is the case, we would have to decline to notarize if the name on the document and the wristband or ID does not match.
